Map of the Heart
"For this scene, we ask the kids of the town to draw for us what we call "imagination maps" of their hometown." - Squonk Opera
My task was to isolate characters, buildings,
and other such objects from various drawings of children and animate them
to the music.
Map of the Heart is divided into three video sements;
Maps Divided - scanned map images divided in Adobe Photoshop then animated as puzzle pieces in Final Cut Pro
Walking the town - using the scanned artwork, I divide up various images into 'cast', 'background', 'buildings', etc in Adobe Photoshop, then arrange the animated town segment in Flash - click to view
All Together - I animated some of the characters from the Walking segment in a way that they dance around Jackie and Steve performing live
