Past
and Present Bonifide Performances - recordings
of my recitals/concerts at Mary Pappart School of Music Duquesne
University
Synthesia:
Bonnie Bogovich Music and Multimedia Recital: Spring 2004
- Dance
of Deceit -
part of a compilation of string works titled "Lydii
estne Me" - this piece in pariticular I called the
Dance of Deceit because it is very tricky, confusing,
and deceptive - it is completely in sticcatto, patterns
and phrases always building up, possibly resolving, and
eventually reaching a happy and chipper ending
- Cusswords
and Fire -
a peice for video projection upon grand piano and doublebass
duet. Marlo Nash, one of the finest basists in the world,
cowrote this work with me. She supplied me with hours of
footage of weather and chaos from her homestate, Oklahoma,
which I edited to the score. (check out the video
clips!)The peice is in three movements:
- "Cusswords" -
tornados, storms, chaos, irritation, and terror
- "Fire" -
light airy peice for rain, electricity, and lightning
- "Marlo's
Theme" - heartwarming tune performed
upon a background of sunset footage from Oklahoma
- Verbum
Supernum Prodiens -
Choral work dedicated to my Grandmother Irene Bogovich,
who sadly passed away before the concert. This peice
is based upon the latin text by St. Thomas Aquinas which
translates to "The Word of Heaven now Preceding".
This is a work in both English and Latin intertwined,
performed by the Duquense University Singers
- Vox
Layers 3.0 -
the third and possibly final rendition of BCB's favorite
vocal work. This time I join Liz Rishel on vocoder and
Boomerang in a duet, and we have the original bassist Jake
Kilburg and Mike Cardinale on drums. Mike ads new flare
to this rendition, taking everything up a notch with craaaazy
swing drums!

- Paths
to Pathos - bass trio, (Marlo Nash, Jeremy Sment,
and Bret Shirtlift)... sorry for the shakiness... this
peice was performed after the one fo the bassists was suddenly
rushed to the hospital.. I would like to thank Bret for
subbing in at the very last minute and sightreading his
best.
