From
2001-2006 I served as a multimedia instructor for
Telecommunity, a youth workshop instructing 8-18
year olds in multimedia and fine art on weekends
and the annual summer camp/workshop. While there
I helped to expand and develop programs in music
composition, sound recording, digital video, in
addition to the creation of the yearly demo reel.
One
of the workshops I developed was a stop-motion
animation class. In an attempt to get imagination
going, I would bring in a bag of random objects
every class (sifters, scarves, glasses, etc) and
would challenge the students to bring the objects
to life. At the end of the 2 week summer camp workshop
we spliced together a demo reel of all the children's
creations for the art gallery showcase, complete
with a soundtrack created in Garage Band, click

Animation 2006 Demo Reel (24.8 megs)
The
Telecommunity workshops are still running today.
